Dec 5, 2022 · 2010 Jeep Patriot Sport North Edition - 2.4 liter motor. Turn the key, dash lights come on, fuel pump runs, but no crank and no start...just silence. Checked the battery cables (they're tight). Starter cables are tight. Checked the relay under driver side headlight, that's good and not corroded. I even changed the starter. Sounds like a bad ground on the battery, or a cable on the starter going to the battery. Very small nut and bolt holding on that cable for dear life. Today I took my 2009 Jeep patriot Sport out for a half mile drive. Got out for 5 minutes, got back in and it wouldn't start. Made sure battery terminals were secured tightly and that there was no battery acid effecting connectivity. Multimeter shows correct voltage of battery indicating it is not dead or dying ( 2 years old)

Diagnosing and finding auto shut down relay issue on 2011 jeep compass latitude 4x4 2.4L.The ASD Relay is not be energized because pin 85 on the relay is not being switched to ground by the PCM connector C3 Pin 3. If I ground out pin 3 on connector 3 the engine starts and runs fine. No codes. I check the DB/YL wire from the ASD relay to the PCM and the wire is good and has connection. The PCM is not grounding pin 3 on Connector 3.
