I’m on a small private server only shared with a couple friends, but lately I’ve just been solo playing. I understand you are supposed to drag bodies to it, wait for it to sniff fully, and then let it eat while you run away.

The problem is that the Carchar must come to the offering dino, so each corpse must be at some distance to the next and other dinos want to eat the corpse but hey, you can kill them too. Note that you have to be fast because the bar decrases and that was my biggest problem even if I tamed it without a cage.
